Epoxy Floor Specs:
Standard proceedures assume the concrete substrate is in good condition with minimal hydrostatic pressure.
Concrete Substrate Preparation:
-7" Metabo T-seg Diamond Grind with dust extraction vacuum; around edges and joints
-17" Diamond/Zirc Single Head Grind main body of surface area with dust extraction vacuum
-pressure wash and rinse to remove dust and contaminant particles
Basic Garage Coating Setup:
First Coat: Direct to Concrete Epoxy with moisture wicking technology applied at approx. 10 mils; will withstand up to 8lbs of MVE
Chip Broadcast: During chip-in window of moisture wicking epoxy. Chips are then profiled after 16 hrs to prepare for final coat.
Clear Coat: Poly-urea/Poly-Aspartic Hybrid coating applied at approx. 10 mils; ready for foot traffic in 3 hours
High MVE Substrate Coating Setup:
First Coat: Direct to Concrete Moisture Blocking Epoxy Primer at 5-7 mils; will withstand up to 16 lbs of MVE
Second Coat:Direct to Concrete Epoxy with moisture wicking technology applied at approx. 10 mils
Commercial Coating Preparation:
Commercial coatings are initially shotblasted to achieve a desired grit rating for the individual products to be used.
Commercial Coating Setup:
Depends on type and severity of traffic. Coatings up to 1/2 inch thick can be applied, and in some CA areas we can use our Chemical Resistant 250VOC Urethane that is stronger and more abrasion resistant than poly-urea/poly-aspartic topcoats.
The most important thing to note about floor coatings is that there is no single coating for all conditions. After examination of the substrate and possible calcium chloride, and pH testing, we design a coating system to fit your specific floor. We will take into account as many variables as possible to ensure the longevity of your finished floor.
